Lanzarote is an island of immense natural beauty. Much of it attributable to the volcanic eruptions of the 1730´s – which remodelled the islands topography and created a unique range of miradors, or lookout posts, which grant visitors some truly breathtaking views.

View from Montana Blanca

This photo was kindly supplied by Dr Miguel Medina of the British Surgery in Puerto del Carmen. And is taken from the top of Montana Blanca – looking south towards the Atalaya de Femes and the fringes of the volcano park at Timanfaya. Giving a fantastic view of the chain of volcanic peaks that shelters the resort of Puerto del Carmen. A climb that’s well worth the hour or so´s walk.

Many other equally fantastic vistas – such as the view pictured below, down the North West coastline of the island from Haria – can be enjoyed across the island – and are outlined here in a previous article, Natural Highs.
