Eating Out In Costa Teguise
When it comes to restaurants in Costa Teguise there is certainly no shortage of choice.
The resort contains over one hundred eating establishments. Offering a wide choice of cuisine, from traditional Canarian through to Chinese and Indian.
But when you’ve just stepped off the plane and they all look the same which one do you choose?
Where, for example, can you enjoy a great sea-view? Which restaurant does the King of Spain choose to eat in when he’s staying at his palatial home just outside Costa Teguise? And where do you go for the best seafood?
MESON LA JORDANA
Frequented by royalty and their entourage Meson Jordan is something of an old school eating experience. Standards here are high. Staff are formally attired, but welcoming and friendly and the service is excellent.
The food is also regarded by many local residents and repeat visitors as the best there is in Costa Teguise. Numerous daily specials augment an already extensive selection of predominantly Spanish/international dishes.
Choose from a selection of both hot and cold starters and hors-d’œuvre, such as puntillas (delicious deep fried baby squid) or Burgundy snails. Then move on to the main event, with a great selection of meat, fish and even game, such as stewed partridge, on offer.

ISLA BONITA
Without doubt one of the top three restaurants in Costa Teguise, Isla Bonita is best known for it’s super fresh seafood.
As with most island restaurants this more often than not means straight up cooking with no frills or fancy touches such as delicate piles of food or sauce patterns on your plate. But who needs all that when the quality of the raw ingredients are this good?
Enjoy a free glass of Canarian wine on arrival and choose from a great selection of locally caught fish such as dorada, vieja, cherne and sama.

VILLA TOLEDO
Villa Toledo occupies the oldest house in Costa Teguise and sits right on top of the picturesque beach at Playa Bastian.
As a result the restaurant boasts great sea views. Diners can drink it all in from the outdoor terrace, which also features a small pool and fountain. Or alternatively from the attractive main dining room upstairs.
Villa Toledo offers a very extensive menu, encompassing all of the usual Canarian standards as well as a selection of more international specialties. Such as a starter of Bloody Mary oysters and a main of locally caught cherne served with ginger oil and risotto.
Fresh fish and meat are reliable choices and can be enjoyed from the grill or cooked in the kitchens wood-burning oven.

EL PESCADOR
You’re more likely to end up staring at the walls here than your dinner plate. But that’s not because the food here is boring. Far from it in fact, as El Pesacdor is one of Costa Teguise´s better fish restaurants.
The menu and cooking are both reliable rather than outstanding. But the incredible hand carved wooden walls of this restaurant still draw plenty of custom and are probably El Pescador’s biggest talking point.
Choose from a good range of reasonably priced local fish such as cherne and sama and feast your eyes on the incredibly intricate carvings, which depict a variety of traditional island scenes.

OSCARS
If you find yourself yearning for something a little different from Spanish or Canarian cuisine then head for Oscars.
This Belgian owned restaurant has a great plant filled patio and a quirky interior, which is covered in murals, depicting classic Hollywood hits. The food is different too, with a greater accent on presentation than elsewhere.
Menu options include a classic Caesar salad with fresh anchovies, noodles with prawns and chillis, sweet and sour fish and even genuine vegetarian options.
Oscars also have some great deserts, including the unmissable if highly calorific Belgian waffles with cherries and hot chocolate sauce.
