This excursion explores the work of the extremely talented Lanzarote artist, César Manrique.
Tour Itinerary
All of the places visited on this tour are examples of Manrique´s extensive body of work. Starting with the Monumento al Campesino and the attached museum dedicated to farming.
The next stop is the César Manrique Foundation, located on the site of the artist´s former home, it is one of the most unusual houses you will ever see, as the lower floor is built out of five underground volcanic bubbles.
Then we proceed to the village of Guatiza, to visit the Cactus Garden, where Manrique used a former quarry to create this stunning garden dedicated to spiny cacti, with more than 1,400 varieties of this species on display.
