TUI Flights to Lanzarote from Doncaster/Sheffield

TUI Travel UK and Ireland, the owners of the Thomson and First Choice brands, will be launching a new direct service to Lanzarote from Robin Hood Doncaster/Sheffield airport for the summer season next year. With flights commencing from May 2010.

Thomson and First Choice have unveiled new check in desks in the terminal building and are said to have shifted attention back to concentrate on their traditional core market of sunshine holiday destinations, such as Lanzarote.

TUI will also be operating flights to Antalya in Turkey and Monastir in Tunisia from the airport, in addition to their new services to Lanzarote.

According to Neil Morris, planning director for TUI, said: “We are always conscious to react to demand and Doncaster is doing very well as an airport for us. “We have a long term future in Doncaster and we see this as an airport to invest in. This is one of the few airports where we are expanding the route network. The only other place is Edinburgh.”

First Direct Flights From Paris to Lanzarote

Direct flights begin operating between Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris and Arrecife’s airport at Guacimeta this Thursday, as a result of a new agreement between the French tour operator Crystal and the Tourist Board of Lanzarote.

In conjunction with this new service, the island is being promoted through an on-line campaign with the French version of travel website Last Minute. And to further stimulate interest in holidays in Lanzarote the website of the Lanzarote Tourist Board will soon be available in a French language version also.

Until now, Lanzarote was not being actively sold in France as a holiday destination at all. And the island has welcomed just 138 visitors from France during the first half of this year.
