The latest musical offering from Lanzarote’s Centres of Art and Culture is a concert at the Cueva de Los Verdes. Which will be taking place on Saturday 4th September starring the Atlantic Quartet, a Spanish saxophone ensemble that has been performing together since 2003.

‘Cuarteto Atlantico’ as they are known in Spanish, perform a wide repertoire of classical music, ranging from Baroque pieces by Handel and Bach to interpretations of modern pieces, such as the Saxophone Quartet by Philip Glass.

The four members of the quartet are Jorge Betancort on soprano saxophone, Jonas Quesada on alto saxophone, Salvador Santana on tenor saxophone and Sergio Yanez plays the baritone saxophone. Each of the group´s members hails from one of the Canary Islands, with Jonas Quesada a native of Lanzarote. They have all received classical training at numerous prestigious institutions, including the Conservatory of Classical Music in Las Palmas.

Cuarteto Atlantico will be appearing at the Cueva de los Verdes on Saturday 4th September from 20.30 onwards. Tickets are priced at €15 and are available from the ticket offices at the Cueva de los Verdes, Jameos del Agua and the Cactus Garden.
