The current heat wave in the Canary Islands is unlikely to dissipate much before Wednesday 1st September, according the AEMET, the State Meteorological Agency.
The heat wave that started to sweep across the Canary Islands last Wednesday looks set to extend into Wednesday at least. According to AEMET. With temperatures across the last seven days reaching highs of 38 degrees Celsius in parts of the island. Exacerbated by a calima, which has now dissipated.
A small fall in temperatures will be noticeable in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, where it is still expected to reach 34ยบ C during the day today. Forecasts for the rest of the week show that temperatures are expected to return to more normal seasonal averages of around 28 degrees Celsius from Thursday onwards.
