Jameos Music Festival 2015 – International Airport

Whilst only in its second year the Jameos Music Festival already lays claim to the title of Lanzarote’s premier summer happening - although in fairness that partly reflects the dearth of any significant competition, not least since the demise of the much loved Costa Musica festival.

This year’s festival features three separate events, the first of which, themed International Airport, touches down this Friday June 12th from 21.30 to 04.00 in the amazingly atmospheric environs of the Jameos del Agua, which were originally intentioned as a nightclub and outdoor event space by creator César Manrique.

Topping the bill this Friday are the ground breaking UK house music collective Basically, who employ vocalists, musicians and live instrumentation instead of machines and loops to craft fluid and sophisticated techno, embracing both their own original material along with reinterpretations of dance floor classics in one seamless mix.

Bassically will be backed up by a trio of DJ´s including Sandro Bianchi, originally born in Rome but now based in Madrid and best known for his eclectic electronic mixes, along with DJ Salvatore and local favourite DJ Panna, who has played most of Lanzarote´s best venues, such as The Hawaiian since moving to the island in 1994 from Barcelona.

Tickets for the event cost €25 and are available from the ticket offices of the main Centres of Art and Culture, such as the Jameos del Agua, from the Casa Amarilla or Yellow House at the foot of Calle Real in Arrecife or online at the muchoviaje website.
