CLASSIC CANARIES Curtain Up On International Music Festival
The 33rd edition of the Canary Islands International Music Festival gets underway this week as more than 600 classical performers from around the globe get set to take to the stage across the archipelago over the coming month.
The Canary Island International Music Festival runs from January 5th through until February 7th and features no less than 78 different musical works being staged across all of the eight Canary Islands (including La Graciosa).
Lanzarote is playing host to ten of these performances and all of the action gets underway on Sunday the 8th of January as recent Latin Grammy winners the Havana String Quartet perform live at the Teatro Municapal in Tias from 20.00. With tickets priced at 8 euros, which can be purchased online here.
Other stand out dates in this year´s festival programme include the experimental offerings of the Mosaik Ensemble on January 28th at the Teatro El Salinero and a finale performance by the Tenerife Symphonic Orchestra in the atmopsheirc environs of the Jameos del Agua on February the 3rd.
