A new season of concerts begins this weekend at the Museum of International and Contemporary Art (MIAC), in the Castillo San José in Arrecife. To stimulate greater visitor interest in the Museum, the Centres of Art and Culture have joined forces with a number of classical musicians to offer a series of chamber music and opera concerts, with the first taking place tonight, 26th February, at 21.00 and featuring Guenia.

The group Guenia plays both traditional classical and local instruments, including the timple, the guitar and the clarinet.

The full programme is as follows:

5th March – Galanta Quartet

27th March – Piano and Cello Duo

17th April – Piano and Saxophone Duo

14th May – Piano, Clarinet and Cello Trio

28th May – Piano, Violin and Flute Trio

18th June – Four Hands at the Piano

On 12th and 13th March an alternative programme starts at 21.30 featuring singers from the Café de la Opera de Madrid. Tickets for these two evenings cost €60 each.

On 30th March the Opera and Dinner evening will feature tenor and soprano opera singers, accompanied by the piano. This event will also begin at 21.30.

The season is scheduled to run from February to June and will combine an opportunity to try the gastronomy of the restaurant at the MIAC, accompanied by music.
