Falcon Holidays has stepped into the breach left by the sudden collapse of their rival Budget Travel last week. By announcing additional flights to Lanzarote from the Republic and by offering to transfer and honour bookings for holidays originally booked with Budget.

According to Falcon Holidays Managing Director Damien Mooney; “While the news of Budget’s closure is very sad and our thoughts extend to industry colleagues who have lost their jobs, there is also a lot of anxiety and confusion among disappointed holidaymakers.

“If passengers can find a suitable alternative package holiday with Falcon, they won’t have to pay again for the holiday—unless there is a price difference—and go through the process of reclaiming the money themselves. We will take on that responsibility.”

“The good news for affected passengers is that any money already paid to Budget would be transferred to Falcon and offset against the cost of the new holiday”.

Falcon said that it would then take on the responsibility of reclaiming the original money from the Commission for Aviation Regulation, “a process which could otherwise take passengers a number of months”.

Falcon also confirmed the addition of two extra flights from Dublin to Arrecife airport on December 24th and 31st.
