Work on the beach of Playa Flamingo in Playa Blanca is finally scheduled for completion at the end of this month. According to officials in the resorts main tourist information office. As the project to restore the sands here finally draws to a close.

The picturesque beach of Playa Flamingo has been in a state of disrepair ever since Tropical Storm Delta hit the island in November 2005. Driving away much of the sand and making the beach largely unusable.

Plans to repair the damage caused have since been dogged by delays. Until earlier this year when a new contractor was engaged to finally rectify the problem. Initially work was expected to have been completed by the end of May this year. However that has not proved to be the case. And now officials have stated that the beach will finally and fully reopen to the public on July 31st.
