The Timanfaya National Park will soon be appearing on cinema screens in all its full three dimensional glory. As Warners prepare for the release of Clash of the Titans in early April in 3D. Featuring scences shot in and around the Fire Mountains.

Timanfaya National Park

Clash of the Titans stars Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Sam Worthingotn and has been directed by Lous Leterrier – who recently worked on the special effect packed release The Incredible Hulk. And will feature key scenes that were shot on location at the Fire Mountains. With the movie set to be one of the first films chalked for release in Warner’s new 3D format, along with the latest Harry Potter film in early April.

This is of course hardly the first time that the island has been used as a backdrop for a major motion picture. As over the years science fiction classics such as One Million Years have been filmed on location in Lanzarote. Whilst more recently Spanish director Pedro Almodovar filmed key scenes from his latest release Broken Embraces, starring Penelope Cruz here. Browse and buy movies about Lanzarote at our online store.
