Both Lanzarote and Fuerteventura have been placed on yellow alert by the state meteorological office AEMET. As heavy rain is expected to continue sweeping across the two eastern most islands in the Canaries both today and tomorrow. With a rainfall of at least 4.9 cubic mm expected on Tuesday afternoon.
Following the rain that fell last night and this morning on the forecast for the rest of today is for more wet weather this afternoon. And more rain is expected tomorrow too – with around 4.9 cubic millimetres anticipated between 15.00 and 18.00.
Cloud coverage will remain partial to full until Wednesday morning, with a scattering of showers in the first few hours of Wednesday but this should clear during the day and leave sunny skies for Thursday. No further rain, beyond Wednesday, is currently forecast for this week.
Temperatures are expected to hover between 19º- 21º C between now and Wednesday, with little in the way of wind expected except on Tuesday afternoon and evening, with a possibility of gusts on Wednesday morning, when it is currently forecast to reach 21 knots at the same time as the heaviest rainfall is due.
