OPEN DOORS Tourist Attraction Strike Suspended

The 20 day strike by workers at Lanzarote´s Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism has been suspended - and all of the island´s key visitor attractions are now open to tourists again.

Workers voted on Sunday to suspend the strike until an extraordinary meeting of the island Government is held to discuss and resolve the dispute later this month. Where the workers are confident that their demands will be met by local politicians.

The strike committee has made it clear that they will resume industrial action if any retaliation is taken against striking union members and they will walk out again if disputed bonuses are not paid.
