The Canarian Beach Football Championship gets under way today on the Playa del Reducto in the heart of Arrecife, Lanzarote´s capital city. Thirty-two teams from the islands of Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote will be battling it out today and over the weekend to see who will win the fifteenth edition of this popular summer soccer contest.
A total of 150 players will be taking part in the games over the next three days, with the final scheduled for Sunday 25th July. In addition to the numerous matches that will be played, there will also be other activities happening in and around the beach, such as music, dancing and competitions for spectators.
The tournament has already completed the Fuerteventura leg at Playa de Jandia, whilst the Master Final of the whole event will take place at Playa del Ingles in Gran Canaria between 13th and 15th of August.
