The Kitesurfing Lanzarote contest gets underway next week from Tuesday 12th until Sunday 17th of July. With the action based on the beach at Famara, which boasts some of the best conditions on the whole island for this fast paced, acrobatic sport.

As usual with this event, the competition is divided into categories by age and gender and class of event, such as Freestyle, Race and Wave. The age groups covered are:

Kids - under 12 years
Juniors - between 13 and 17 years
Seniors - between 18 and 39 years
Veterans - 40 years and above

The tournament officially gets underway on Wednesday 13th July, kicking off with the Freestyle Senior Women's group at 09.30.
