Artemis Racing Lift RC44 Title At Puerto Calero

The RC44 World Championships taking place in Puerto Calero over the weekend have resulted in a victory for the Swedish crew of Artemis Racing. Whose consistent performances helped them to clinch the top spot with a total of 49 points accrued across 11 races.

Tourists enjoying a break in Puerto del Carmen and Puerto Calero have nee treated to some world class sailing action over the last few days as competitors from around the world have been battling it out tin the waters off Puerto Calero for the title of RC44 World Champions.

In a tight and tense final day of competition the Swedish team of Artemis Racing made a spurt for the winner's podium by securing 4th, 2nd and 11th spot in the last three races to carve out a six point lead from closest competitors Ironbound.

The weather also played its past in this thrilling finale as a wind of 23 knots provided superb sailing conditions for the field of 14 vessels. But Torbjorn Tornqvist's Artemis Racing held on to lift the title, leaving Ironbound in 2nd place and Peninsula Petroleum Sailing in the number 3 slot.
