Food and Wine Festival in Teguise

Head to the former island capital of Teguise this weekend to sample the flavours of Lanzarote, as the 3rd Saborea Lanzarote Food and Wine Festival takes place this Saturday and Sunday, 26th and 27th November.

The main focal point for the Festival is the large pavilion in the main square and activities include wine and food tastings, informal discussions from professionals within the industry, stalls displaying a variety of products and entertainment for children.

The festival will be divided into three main categories: ‘The Flavour Class’, ‘The Market’ and ‘Gastro Teguise’. The Flavour Class will consist of several leading island chefs demonstrating how to create the culinary flavours of the island based on local products. At the end of the class, participants will be able to try all the dishes created during the session. There will be space for 50 people to take part in this gastronomic lesson.

The Market will be organised as a space where some thirty professionals who work in the wine and food industry will have examples of their products to sample and purchase. Local cheeses, wines, artisan produce and restaurateurs will be offering their wares for just a euro each.

The final aspect of the festival is Gastro Teguise, which involves all the local bars and restaurants in the town serving up special menus to coincide with the event. In addition, there will also be live music in several parts of the town and gastronomic films for children to enjoy, such as Ratatouille.

The first day of the festival kicks off at 10.30 in the morning in the large pavilion located in the square behind the Church of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe.
