Two Tastes Of Lanzarote

Playa Blanca is playing host to a week of Cheese and Wine Tastings, starting on Friday 10th February. As part of an initiative to stimulate the gastronomic trade this event is being organised jointly by the Cabildo of Lanzarote and Saborea Lanzarote. Whilst a second Leisure and Gastronomy Fair is taking place in Tias this weekend too.

Fifteen restaurants have signed up to participate in the week long event in Playa Blanca, as well as several small cheese makers. As with the Black Pig event in December, the participating establishments will each be offering their own interpretations of local dishes using cheeses and wines produced on Lanzarote.

On Saturday 18th February there will also be a Cheese and Wine Fair in Calle Limones, the pedestrian street in the heart of Playa Blanca, with up to twenty stalls selling local produce and offering samples of their wine and cheese for visitors to try. The event ends on Sunday 19th February.

An alternative fair covering Leisure and Gastronomy is taking place in Tias over the weekend of 11th and 12th February. This event is taking place at the Plaza El Pavon in the centre of Tias, with workshops and activities for children, an exhibition of Canarian stick fighting, archery stall, magic shows and an exhibition of lassoo skills by staff from Rancho Texas.
