Carlo Grante in Concert

Classical piano enthusiasts should head to Bodega Stratvs and the Camel House this weekend, to take advantage of the opportunity to hear Carlo Grante in concert. The Italian pianist is playing at both venues on Saturday 31st March and Sunday 1st April and will be covering a range of pieces including works by Scarlatti, Debussy and Busoni.

Grante is one of the most prodigious concert pianists currently playing and has already recorded more than 50 CDs, interpreting the works of Mozart, Liszt, Schumann, Rachmaninoff, Debussy and Busoni. His confident mastery of the piano has seen him play to audiences in Rome, Lima, Vienna, Hong Kong, Moscow, Rio de Janiero and Hanoi to mention just a few of the cities in his worldwide concert repertoire.

Following an initial period of training in Italy under Sergio Perticaroli in Rome, Carlo Grante then moved to the United States to study at the University of Miami and the Julliard School of Music in New York. He completed his studies under the tutelage of Alice Kereradze-Pogorelich in London.

The two concerts this weekend feature separate programmes, with the Bodega Stratvs event dedicated to a number of sonatas by Scarlatti on Saturday evening. Whilst the Camel House concert in Macheron Sunday focuses on the works of Claude Debussy, with a number of pieces drawn from his Images II series and three elegies from Busoni. Both concerts start at 19.30.

The Bodega Stratvs concert tickets cost €30 and include a cheese and wine tasting. The Camel House concert has tickets ranging from €25 to €45, with the latter price including dinner. For more information or to book tickets visit:
