Winning Images From Septenio Competition Unveiled in Teguise

The winning images from the 2012 Septenio International Photographic competition are on display at the Convento de Santo Domingo in Teguise until 14th January 2013. The theme for this year’s entries was ‘El Suelo’ – The Floor in English.

This annual competition is held by the Canarian Government and is open to all amateur photographers. This year’s prize winners include Pol Viladoms from Barcelona and José Miguel Suarez from Madrid. Their works were selected from 438 entries by photographers from 12 different countries.

José Miguel Suarez won the category for the best individual photograph submitted with a piece entitled ‘Sombras’ or ´Shadows´, while Pol Viladoms was selected as the photographer with the best series of five images entitled ´White Marble´.

The exhibition features all of the photos selected by the jury, which includes thirty individual photos and eight series of five images and has just been opened in Lanzarote, after a showing in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The exhibition is free to attend and the opening hours for the Convent of Santo Domingo are 10.00 to 15.00 every day except Saturday.
