Hearts Exhibition Opens in Teguise

Hearts are the major theme of a new exhibition by resident German artist Christian Honerkamp, which opened last week at the Convent of Santo Domingo in Teguise.

Exploring the image of the heart through a variety of materials, Honerkamp uses strong colours, representations of different sizes and textures to present multiple ways of seeing this popular icon. Thus creating an overwhelming sensation of optimism amongst the exhibition’s spectators.

This type of themed exploration is territory that Christian has already covered in previous shows, where his paintings have ranged over subjects such as volcanic eruptions and angel’s wings. The current exhibition will run until 16th February and will therefore be in situ when the annual celebration of Valentine’s Day takes place.

The gallery at the Convent of Santo Domingo is open every day except Saturday, between 10.00 and 15.00 on Monday to Friday and between 10.00 and 14.00 on Sunday. Entrance to the gallery is free of charge.
