CINE SAMPLES Lanzarote Film Festival 2016

The 6th Lanzarote Film Festival gets underway this week from November 24th, running through until December 3rd. And features a couple of excellent English language films which are both well worth adding to your diary.

First up is Ken Loach´s gritty drama I Daniel Blake, which is set in the North East of England and chronicles the battles of an unemployed man with Britain´s dystopian benefits system. The film has already won The Palme D'or at the Cannes Film Festival this year and will be screened at the Teatro de Tias from 20.00 on November 27th.

Closing the Festival on November 29th is Jim Jarmusch´s punchy documentary Gimme Danger, which showcases the seminal importance and influence of The Stooges, widely regraded as the world´s first punk rock band, who were originally fronted by Iggy Pop. Gimme Danger screens at Cine El Almacen from 21.00 on December 3rd.
