BLUES BROTHER King Solomon Hicks at Jazz Canarias

The Heineken Jazz Canarias Festival touches down in Arrecife this coming Friday July 21st, showcasing the talents of US blues guitarist King Solomon Hicks along with the Afro Cuban funksters Palo.

Former child prodigy Solomon Hicks has been performing live since the tender age of 13, when he first stepped up as lead guitarist for the 13 piece Cotton Club band in New York. And since then he´s played with some of the true heavyweights of the blues world, such as the BB King Blues Band, whilst also recording two solo albums - the most recent of which is entitled Carrying On The Torch of The Blues.

He´ll be appearing live in the Plaza CIC El Almacen in Arrecife from 21.00 alongside Palo, who blend jazz, funk and Cuban influences to create a unique upbeat musical style. Admission is free of charge and the date forms part of a wider event across the Canary Islands which can be viewed in greater detail at
