HIGHLY STRUNG Yul Ballasteros Live at MIAC

Yul Ballesteros, one of the Canary Island’s leading jazz musicians, plays live on Lanzarote on Thursday the 22nd of February at the Castillo de San Jose in Arrecife.

Born on Gran Canaria, Yul graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2007 and is widely regarded as one of the top jazz guitarists in Spain, having collaborated with the likes of Dave Samuels, Perico Sambeat and Joe Magnarelli.

He will be appearing with his quintet, which features Claudio Marrero (tenor sax), José Alberto Medina (piano), Tana Santana (bass) and Suso Vega (drums). Showcasing his latest release "Nine Tales From The Inner Space" (2015), which was recorded at System Two studios in Brooklyn, New York, with the participation of cutting edge musicians such as Ari Hoenig, Aaron Parks, Orlando LeFleming, Josh Dion and Dick Oatts, and the renowned saxophonist Spanish Kike Perdomo.

Tickets are priced at €5 and €10 and can be purchased online from the Cultura Lanzarote website.
