BIGGER PICTURE Lanzarote International Film Festival In Focus

Lanzarote’s International Film Festival gets underway tomorrow, with the showing of the English language version of acclaimed feature film Cold Skin at the Teatro Salinero.

Now in it’s 18th year this annual cinematic celebration has expanded to encompass a nine day programme of events, including screenings, workshops and awards and is now widely regarded as one of the fastest growing film festivals in Spain.

The Festival provides an umbrella for a wide variety of different disciplines, from animated shorts and documentaries through to Canarian productions and full length feature films. Visit the official Lanzarote Film Festival website for a full breakdown of all of the action.

The chilling event opener Cold Skin was filmed here on Lanzarote as well as on location in Iceland and stars Ray Stevenson, who is posted to a remote island as a weather observer. Who soon finds that he is far from alone in this desolate and highly inhospitable destination at the ends of the earth.

Tickets priced at just three euros are still available online here and the screening gets underway tomorrow evening, April 19th, from 20.30.
