FUTURE JAZZ Nik Bärtsch Launches Visual Music Festival

The future jazz fusion sounds of Nik Bärtsch launch the 15th edition of Lanzarote’s Visual Music Festival this coming Saturday, October 6th at the Jameos del Agua.

The Festival De Musica Visual is now in its 15th year – and was initially inaugurated by one of the leading lights of the experimental scene, Brian Eno back in 1996. Who stated at the time that “Nowhere else shall we see such a clear creative process like the one we can see in Lanzarote. The island promotes artistic behaviour and a physical approach to pure creation”.

The Festival was designed to provide a fitting soundtrack to the island’s’ unique energy and scenery whilst providing an avant-garde counter balance to the increasingly crass commercialisation of the music industry.

Nik Bärtsch’s Mobile project create a unique soundscape which combines diverse influences from jazz and funk to ambient and the avant garde, along with structural shading drawn from ritualistic Japanese folk compositions. They will be appearing live on stage at the Jameos del Agua from 22.30 this coming Saturday and tickets are still available online, visit the official festival website for more information.
