SMALL WONDERS Chamber Music Champions Live In Tinajo

Spain’s champions of chamber music, The Quiroga Quartet, appear live on Lanzarote this coming Sunday….

Their performances have been described by eminent critics such as The New York Times as “Exquisite. Fresh, precise and perfectly balanced interpretations, drawn with consistently warm tones”. And now the winners of Spain’s 2018 National Music Awards will be performing at the Iglesia San Roque in Tinajo this Sunday, January 20th at 20.30 as part of the 35th International Festival de Musica Canarias.

They will be performing pieces by Haydn, Bartók, Arriaga and Ginastera as part of their own mini-tour which also encompasses dates on El Hierro, La Gomera, La Palma, La Graciosa and Fuerteventura.

The Quiroga Quartet are regarded as one of the most unique chamber ensembles around and comprise Aitor Hevia (first violin), Cibran Sierra (violin), Josep Puchades (viola) and Helena Poggio (cello). Who were first united by their desire to pay homage to the great Galician violinist Manuel Quiroga, one of the most important instrumentalists in Spanish musical history.
