Hotels & Apartments Enjoy Busiest August Since 2007

Occupancy levels in Lanzarote hotels and apartments hit 87.04% in August, up by 3.3% versus the same month last year, according to the latest data just released by ASOLAN, the island's hoteliers association. Representing the best August performance since 2007, when 90.89% of tourist beds were filled.

The latest figures just released by ASOLAN reveal that the islands hotels and apartment complexes have just enjoyed their busiest August since 2007. With 87.04% of beds filled by visitors from the UK and across Europe.

Of the islands main resorts Puerto del Carmen led the way last month with an overall occupancy level of 88%. With both four star hotels in Puerto del Carmen and aparthotels recording figures in excess of 90%. Followed by Playa Blanca, where overall occupancy hit 88.04% and Costa Teguise with 86.85%.

Holiday apartments in Playa Blanca recorded the highest single level of occupancy across all accommodation types last month, with 97.21% of beds filled. Whilst overall occupancy levels for the year to date are currently 8% up on 2010.
