Lanzarote's President at World Travel Market in London

Lanzarote will be well represented at the thirty-second edition of the World Travel Market in London this week, when the island’s president and staff from the Society for the External Promotion and the Tourist Board will be meeting the main British tour operators.

Attendance at the event at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre remains an important event in the annual calendar for the Lanzarote Tourist Board, as the UK tourist market still accounts for half the total number of visitors to the Canarian island.

Amongst those present at the WTM this year are Pedro San Gines, the president of the Lanzarote Government, Astrid Perez the vice-president and councillor for Tourism and Hector Fernandez, head of the Lanzarote Tourist Board. Officials will meet with representatives from TUI, Monarch, Thomas Cook,, Easyjet and Ryanair during the three days of the fair.

As in previous years, Lanzarote has a dedicated exhibition space on the Canary Islands stand, which is staffed by employees from the island’s tourist offices.
