Tourist Centre Admissions Rise By 6.4% in October

The number of people visiting the island's six main Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism rose again last month by 6.4%. And now stand 8.68% ahead of the same 10 month period in 2010, with a total of 2,260,909 admissions recorded for the year to date.

Lanzarote's main tourist attractions continue to enjoy positive growth in terms of admissions, according to the latest data just released by the Cabildo of Lanzarote. As the number of paying customers climbed last month by 6.4% to a total of 213,856 admissions for October.

As usual, the Timanfaya National Park remains the most popular tourist attraction on the island, welcoming 73,714 visitors last month. Followed by the Jameos del Agua (54,583), the Mirador del Rio (29,943), Cuevas de los Verdes (28,027), Jardin de Cactus (23,093) and the Museum of International and Contemporary Art (4,496).

Overall the Timanfaya National Park accounts for one in three of all visits made to Lanzarote's key visitor attractions and has so far racked up 754,514 admissions for the year to date.
