Yellow Weather Alert Issued For Tuesday

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued a yellow alert for tomorrow, Tuesday 13th December for the whole of the Canary Islands. With a specific warning about the likelihood of rough seas throughout the coastal regions of the islands.

The alert covers Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and across to the northern coasts of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro. In particular, high waves of 3.1 metres are expected off the coast of Lanzarote throughout the day, beginning at 00.00 and carrying on into the evening of Tuesday.

Further high waves are also anticipated for Thursday, with the possibility that waves will reach 4.3 metres during the late afternoon and evening, whilst high gusts of wind, reaching 25 knots are currently predicted for Thursday morning from 06.00.
