Monarch Launch New Weekly Flights From East Midlands

Monarch, one of the UK’s leading low cost leisure airlines, has just announced the creation of two weekly flights to Lanzarote from their new base at East Midlands airport, with services commencing from October 28th this year.

Monarch airlines has provided a boost for Lanzarote’s tourist sector with the creation of a new base at East Midlands airport and the creation of a new route to the island, which will be operating twice weekly from October 28th. The move is expected to create some 150 jobs and as well as offering services to Lanzarote Monarch will also be flying out of East Midlands airport to Tenerife, Malaga, Alicante and Faro.

According to Kevin George, Monarch’s Managing Director; ““We have been delighted by the response to the announcement that we will be opening a new base and new flights from East Midlands Airport this summer. Demand for flights has been already been strong and it is great that hot on the heels of the launch, we are able to expand our network and add new routes to Tenerife, Lanzarote and Ibiza.

“The rapid expansion of our network from East Midlands Airport is testament to our commitment to provide choice, value and superior customer service to more and more customers in the Midlands.”

Return flight prices from East Midlands to Lanzarote start from around £110 including taxes and the new services increase the range of choice for consumers in that region. Who are now able to select from other carriers such as Jet2, Ryanair and Thomas Cook as well as Monarch.
