Norwegian Disco Duo Pay Homage To Lanzarote

A new disco track called ‘Lanzarote’ has just been released by Norwegian duo Todd Terje and Lindstrom. The track was given this name as a reflection of Scandinavian appreciation of the sun-kissed Canary Islands, with voiceovers affirming their desire to go to Gran Canaria and Tenerife as well.

The electronic beats are reminiscent of mid-eighties Euro grooves and represent the first collaboration between these two music producers. The pair had previously worked together on an edit of Hans Peter Lindstrom’s track ‘Smallhans’ last year, but as they plan to appear at several festivals such as Melt! andSónar this Summer, this new release can be seen as the first in a phase of collaborative work.

Todd Terje originally started out studying jazz in his native Norway but ended up studying physics. However, his early love of music stayed with him and by the late nineties he was producing disco tracks on a computer with his friends. Hans Peter Lindstrom started his music label Feedelity in 2002 and has produced four solo albums as well as working in collaboration with Prins Thomas and singer Christabelle. Not least amongst the artists he remixed tracks for are Roxy Music and Franz Ferdinand.
