Lanzarote Provides The Inspiration For Porsche

Lanzarote has provided the inspiration and backdrop for yet another big brand commercial as the people from Porsche have just completed filming a new video on the island. This promotional short has been created to mark both the launch of the iconic 911 series 50 years ago and the release of the very latest 911 turbo models, the 520 CV and the 560 CV, in September. With Lanzarote’s dramatic volcanic terrain providing the perfect stage for the German based luxury marquee manufacturer.

The one minute plus promo – entitled Un Punto de Referencia en Moviemento – or a Benchmark in Motion - was shot in the Los Hervidores region of the island, on Lanzarote’s rugged North West coastline. Roads were closed for the duration of the shoot allowing the cameramen to perfectly capture the harmonious union of the Porsche’s impressive lines and engineering with the distinctive volcanic scenery and rolling waves.  All of which is designed to emphasise Porsche's message that the 911 is THE benchmark vehicle in the luxury sports car market.

Lanzarote remains a very popular choice with film makers and photographers and this latest credit sits alongside other recent productions, such as the new SP20 sunscreen ads which were shot on the beach at Famara and which are showing on UK TV screens now, as well as the recent Thomas Cook advert which was filmed on location in Teguise.
