Hot, Hot, Hot - Heatwave Temperatures Set To Soar

Whilst some may like it hot others may find the heat too much over the next couple of days, as temperatures are set to soar into the mid-30's Celsius on Lanzarote.

For the vast majority of tourists this is more of a godsend than a problem, but as a result AEMET, Spain's meteorlogical agency, has issued a Yellow Alert in order to raise awareness about the possible dangers associated with over exposure to the sun, particularly during the hottest hours of the day.

In addition, this increase in temperature above the seasonal norm is all down to the appearance of a calima, which also carries sand and dust across from the Sahara.  So visitors with pertinent health issues such as respiratory problems may also need to exercise caution.

The higher temperatures are set to persist throughout today and tomorrow before dissipating before the weekend.
