CONDOR MOMENT Competition Heats Up On Manchester Route

Tourists based in the North West of England now have no less than six airlines to choose from when booking their next break in Lanzarote. Thanks to the arrival of Condor on the competitive Manchester to Arrecife route.

German airline Condor, a sister company of Thomas Cook, are currently expanding their routes to the Canaries from both Manchester and Hannover, having only recently announced the creation of other new services from these hubs to Tenerife and La Palma respectively. So illustrating the growing competition in this rapidly expanding market, fuelled by growing passenger demand as tourism to the Middle East wanes.

Condor will be operating a new once weekly service from Manchester to Lanzarote every Sunday, with a 275 seater plane, the largest on the route. And will be competing against jet2, Monarch, Thomson Airways and Thomas Cook, who all fly to the island four times a week, as well as Ryanair, who touchdown thrice weekly.

Other operators, such as jet2 have also recently expanded their services as they inaugurate their new route from Edinburgh to Arrecife this week.
