TOON TAKEOFF Ryanair Unveils New Route From Newcastle

Budget airline Ryanair has announced the creation of a new route from Newcastle to Lanzarote next winter. As both demand and competition for services to the Canaries from the UK continues to rise.

The Eire based operator will be flying from Newcastle airport to Arrecife twice weekly as part of their new winter schedule, which also encompasses new services to Malaga, Alicante and Tenerife. With the firm claiming that their expansion plans will deliver an additional 330,000 passengers to Newcastle airport whilst also creating 250 jobs.

The new services start from November 2nd and will operate every Wednesday and Saturday, with prices starting from around £35.99 each way.

The demise of tourism to the Middle East and Red Sea has resulted in a growth in demand for holidays in Spain and The Canary Islands. And as a result more airlines are seeking a slice of the action, whilst those already operating routes to the Canaries are upping their services.
