HOTEL HELL Food Poisoning On Menu At Barcelo Resort

Up to 80 holidaymakers are reported to have contracted food poisoning after staying at the four star Barcelo Lanzarote Resort hotel in Costa Teguise last month. With at least one of the families affected now planning legal action against the establishment and their tour operator, Clear Sky Holidays.

Reports in the UK national press yesterday highlighted the plight of Neeley McPhail, Westley Loveland and their two young children. Who had spent five years saving up for their dream break, a £3,000 all inclusive holiday during last months half term break.

However their vacation soon turned into a nightmare, as after just four days at the Barcelo Lanzarote Resort all were suffering from severe food poisoning, with the family pointing the finger at poor hygiene standards in the hotel restaurant. Whilst medical staff also closed the pool at the hotel as a precaution.

Indeed the outbreak was so severe that an estimated 80 guests came down with food poisoning, with some having to cancel their breaks and flying home early, whilst Neeley McPhail collapsed in a cab after having to phone her own taxi to take her to the hospital.
