STREET FASHION Lanzarote Hits The Catwalk in Milan

It's always interesting to observe how Lanzarote is marketed in different countries. And the island tourist board has just unveiled an innovative new campaign in Italy's fashion capital, Milan, dressing the the city's iconic public tram network in stunning images of Lanzarote's landscape.

This new campaign employs the tagline, Lanzarote - The Different Island and utilises a range of six different shots, such as the beaches at Papagayo and Famara, all of which feature in full size screen prints. Providing a high profile, street level form of promotion that is designed to drive awareness in this fast growing market during May.

The Italian market has expanded rapidly over the last five years. The number of Italian tourists touching down at Arrecife airport has soared by over 200% since 2010, establishing the country as Lanzarote's sixth largest source of foreign tourist arrivals.

And this figure looks set to grow further this year thanks to the inauguration of a new easyJet route from Milan in May, along with an increase in the number of services offered by Ryanair from Bergamo airport. A similar campaign is also scheduled for the Italian capital of Rome later this year.
