ROYAL WAVE Queen Victoria Docks In Lanzarote This Weekend

One of the world’s most prestigious cruise liners, The Queen Victoria, is going to be docking at Puerto Marmoles on the outskirts of the island capital Arrecife this Sunday, May 15th.

This is not the liner’s first visit to our shores and memorably this Cunard owned colossus of the seas was turned away from Puerto Marmoles on Christmas Eve back in 2014 due to unfavourable easterly weather, which also exposed operational shortcomings at the ferry port.

This time around however all climate conditions look set fair for an incident free visit, which will allow around 2,000 passengers the chance to explore the island briefly before continuing their cruise from Lisbon in Portugal to other stops around the Canaries.

The Queen Victoria is Cunard’s flagship successor to the Queen Mary 2 and weighs in at a whopping 90,000 tons whilst measuring around 300 metres. But patriotic types may want to look away now, as the vessel was in fact built in Italy back in 2007.
