AIR SCARE Jet2 Drama At Manchester Airport

A 28 year old Jet2 aircraft has made its third emergency landing in a month after initially taking off from Manchester Airport on route to Lanzarote.

The incident, which occurred in early October, was caused by a technical problem and resulted in the elderly Boeing 737 returning to base after flying a 40 minute holding pattern at 8000ft in the skies over Wigan.

According to UK national press reports this was the third time in four weeks that this particular aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing soon after take off, with previous incidents attributed to faulty landing gear.

The Jet2 flight to Lanzarote was met by the fire service on its return to Manchester however the crew landed the place without incident and all passengers were safely transferred onto a replacement plane.
