HIGHER PLANE October Arrivals Up By 11.49%

The number of foreign tourists taking a holiday on Lanzarote rose yet again last month, with AENA reporting an 11.49% increase in arrivals versus October 2015 figures.

In total 232,238 foreign tourists touched down at Arrecife airport during the course of October, taking total non Spanish arrivals for the year to date to just over the 2 million mark, an increase of 9.45%.  Whilst arrivals from mainland Spain have also taken off again, with passenger numbers rising by 9.92% last month versus 2015 figures and by 6.09% for the year to date.

This positive trend has been repeated across the Canaries, as the islands have now welcomed 10,925,608 foreign arrivals during the first ten months of this year, a figure which is up by 14.5%, representing an increase of 1,384,344 extra passengers versus the same period in 2015.

This upward trend looks set to continue throughout the winter too, as the number of flights to Lanzarote and the Canaries from the key UK market are also on the rise.  With the main British carriers upping capacity by 19% to Lanzarote and by 23% to the Canaries as a whole.
