AIR LIFT November Tourist Arrivals Up By 9.5%

The number of foreign tourists booking a break in Lanzarote rose yet again last month, as a total of 196,223 holidaymakers touched down at Arrecife airport, an increase of 9.48% versus November 2015.

Once again it was the British market that accounted for the bulk of these bookings, as visitor numbers from the UK soared by 12.68%, despite Brexit fears and the recent weakness of the pound against the euro.

Overall, foreign tourism is now up by nearly 10% for the year to date, as Lanzarote has welcomed 2,205,856 arrivals from outside Spain during the eleven months from January to November. Whilst across the Canary Islands as a whole foreign tourist arrivals have risen by nearly 14% across the same period, as a total of 12,118,960 holidaymakers have visited the archipelago.
