NEW WAVE Europe´s First Underwater Museum Opens On Lanzarote

The Museo Atlantico - Europe´s first underwater museum - is now officially open to the public.

Located just off the coast of Playa Blanca at Los Colorados, The Museo Atlantico has been created by British artist Jason deCaires Taylor and encompasses 12 amazing installations featuring over 300 figurative works, many of them life size casts of island residents, submerged on the ocean floor at a depth of around 14 metres. Which over time will create a large scale artificial reef.

The project was started back in Feb 2016 and now it is complete tourists can now explore it for themselves by booking either a one hour dive or snorkel with any officially approved dive school, priced at 12 and 8 for adults respectively. You can view a list of approved dive schools here.

All departures are from the Marina Rubicon and the Museo Atlantico is open Monday to Friday 10.00 to 17.00, with the last dive each day taking place at 16.00.
