ON COURSE Tourist Arrivals Climb Again In October

The number of foreign tourists visiting Lanzarote rose by 4.4% last month, whilst Spanish arrivals soared by over 12% - according to the latest provisional data just released by ISTAC, the Canarian Institute of Statistics.

In total the island welcomed 242,476 foreign tourists and 43,969 Spanish nationals during the course of October.

To date this year 2,322,205 foreign holidaymakers have enjoyed a break on the island - up 11% year on year. Along with 420,625 Spanish nationals - up 4.6% year on year. Leaving Lanzarote well on course to break through the 3 million visitor barrier by the end of 2017.

The UK has accounted for the bulk of foreign tourist arrivals for the year to date with 1,232,967 passengers, followed by Germany (300,408), Ireland (224,574), Holland (100,042) and France (85,934).
