PUMPED UP Repsol Unveil Iconic New British Design

Sir Norman Foster, Britain’s best known architect, is behind the new Repsol service station design which is now being rolled out across Lanzarote.

Sir Norman’s UK based Foster and Partners practice has been commissioned to create a whole new look for the Spanish oil companys service stations. Resulting in the creation of futuristic looking forecourts – the first of which was unveiled in Arrecife earlier this week.

Repsol are now rolling this new design out to 200 petrol stations across Spain and according to leading national newspaper ElMundo these “will change the landscape of roads and countryside and may one day be protected as the Osborne bull or the Tio Pepe bottles.”

At the main core of the design lies a canopy system in Repsol's corporate colours, which Foster and Partners describe as a powerful three dimensional design which will create easy on road brand recognition amongst drivers.
