FLIGHT MARE Eight UK Flights Redirected To Fuerteventura

Rain and low visibility at Arrecife airport yesterday resulted in the redirection of eight flights from the UK to Fuerteventura…

The viability of Arrecife airport as a year-round arrival hub was once again called into question yesterday, after a relatively small amount of rainfall created what authorities described as dangerously low visibility.

As a result eight flights originating from UK airports such as Glasgow, Manchester and Stansted were diverted to Fuerteventura airport instead. Whilst an inter-island flight from Gran Canaria to Lanzarote was forced to return to Las Palmas.

AENA state that the redirected flights would be routed back to Lanzarote as and when conditions allow and that these passengers could also experience delays to these services at Fuerteventura as a further knock on effect.
