WHITE OUT Big Freeze Closes UK Airports
Flights to Lanzarote from the UK have been adversely affected this morning, with both Manchester and Liverpool airports closed…
The plans of hundreds of tourists travelling to Lanzarote were dashed this morning as freezing weather and snowfall swept the UK, taking temperatures there as low as minus six degrees Celsius in some parts of the country.
Conditions are not expected to improve any time soon, as the Met Office has issued a yellow warning, with further heavy snowfall expected today.
The weather caused mayhem at Manchester Airport, as some flights remained grounded whilst passengers were redirected to other airports. As a result, both Ryanair and Thomas Cook passengers hoping to escape to Lanzarote today are currently experiencing substantial delays, whilst flights out of Liverpool John Lennon Airport were also temporarily suspended.
