CAR TROUBLE Goldcar Take Another Wrong Turn

Goldcar have been driving tourists visiting Lanzarote mad again with their borderline business practices, according to The Sun….

Vehicle rental company Goldcar made the news again earlier this week after a disgruntled customer reported their woeful experience to The Sun newspaper in the UK. Londoner David Lewis, aged 39 years, visited Lanzarote in February and was attracted by Goldcar’s low headline hire price.

However the reality of the rental agreement started to dawn on David when Goldcar forced him to make a £1100 deposit payment on his credit card on arrival at Arrecife airport. Followed by a £200 bill for fabricated damages to his Fiat500 on departure.

As a result a disgruntled David contacted The Sun to highlight the horrorshow. Who in turn contacted Goldcar, prompting a refund of the money that they took from his card for invented damages and without his permission.

Goldcar had promised to change their ways earlier this year, drafting in a new boss from parent company Europcar to oversee operations. However it very much appears that staff on Lanzarote have yet to get the memo.
